Ok, so today will be our fourth day with Mazie. Here are a couple of updates to note:
1. STILL NO BARK--not a single one. It's a plus because we live in an apartment, but it's also kind of weird.
2. She ate out of her bowl last night, but only after she watched me and Jonathan enjoy our weekly taco night and figured out she wasn't going to get any of ours and that she might as well eat her food.
3. This relates to number 2--there was no tipping of the food onto the floor.
4. She loves her mini tennis ball. She gets it in her mouth and tosses it up in the air and tries to catch it again. Too cute.

Mazie
Yesterday, Jonathan and I picked up our new dog...Mazie! So, you might ask..what were we thinking? Well, if you had seen her picture and description on PetFinder, you would totally understand. Jonathan found her one day last week when we were just randomly looking at the site. Of course, we fell in love with her and got the process rolling.
Let me tell you, adoption of a dog requires more than we thought it did. I wouldn't compare it to adopting a child in any way, but it's right up there with trying to get a kid in the best pre-school or something. 2 applications, a signed contract, a meeting with Mazie and her foster parents, and a home review later we were finally approved as the parents of a 1.5 year old, female (housetrained, thank goodness) Beagle.
So, we met her on Thursday night and picked her up on Saturday morning (after a nice expensive trip to PetsMart). Our first 24 hours with her have been great. Here are a couple of things to note:
1. She still hasn't barked--not one single time. We have seen other dogs and even rabbits...not so much as a whimper.
2. She likes to knock the food out of her (expensive PetsMart) bowl and eat off the floor.
3. She loves to sleep and snuggle.
4. She loves all of the attention we have been able to give her. One of her favorite things to do is get up in Jonathan's lap and lay on her back so he can scratch her stomach.
So, the general consensus is that we love her very, very much. Here is my plug for adoption: please consider giving a cute, loving dog like this a full time home! petfinder.com is a great place to start.

Bed Bath & Beyond
I absolutely love the randomness of Bed Bath and Beyond. Those coupons they send in the mail get me in their store every single time.
On my last trip to get $5 off of a $15 purchase I came home with:
- 2 salsa bowls
- 1 dish rag
- 1 ped egg
The salsa bowls rock, the dish rag is, well a dish rag, and the ped egg is amazing.
Like I said, I love the randomness..just can't help it.

A blogging vacation
If you watch 'The Hills,' which is totally under impressing this year, you might catch the play on words with 'a blogging vacation.' Yeah, so I went on one. I really have no excuse. I thought of tons of fun stuff to blog about and did tons of fun stuff to blog about, but was just too lazy to write about it. That's sad I know.
Since I last blogged I:
- did terrible with the rest of my bracket
- went to Starkville for a Super Bulldog Weekend
- Won tickets to the Nashville Predators Stanley Cup playoff game
- entertained my Dad in the music city for a weekend
- passed my 90 days at work! (woohoo!)
- etc.
So, it's really been a good last month. I promise (to my one or two readers) that I will not take so long to write between posts.
